Who are We?

Word and Worship Church

Word and Worship Church exists to share, experience, and grow together in the life-changing power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Founded in January 2009 in Bensalem by a few dedicated families, our journey began with a deep commitment to following Christ and making disciples in obedience to His commission. Rooted in our rich Malayalee Pentecostal heritage, we emphasize the new birth, the Holy Spirit, holiness, sanctification, and mutual love—grounding every aspect of our lives on God’s Word alone.

Passionate about helping people find and follow Jesus, we strive to create a welcoming space where everyone can grow spiritually and experience God’s love. Whether you're new to faith or seeking a deeper connection, you are always welcome here. To ensure that all can partake in the celebration of His love, we offer services in both Malayalam and English. Join us as we continue to live out our calling, sharing the life-changing power of the gospel and fostering a community built on faith, worship, and the legacy of our heritage. Today, we're located at 2680 Huntingdon Pike in Huntingdon Valley, PA, joyfully serving families throughout Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia, Bensalem, and Bucks County.

What We Believe

Statement Of Faith

The Scriptures are Inspired

We believe the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books, is the inspired Word of God. It is a divine revelation to humanity, the infallible guide for faith and conduct, and superior to human conscience and reason, yet never contradictory to reason. (Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

The One True God

We believe in one eternal, self-existent God who has revealed Himself as "I AM." God exists in a triune relationship: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, was born of a virgin, provided atonement through His death on the cross, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and intercedes for believers. The Holy Spirit is the Giver of life, worshiped and glorified with the Father and the Son. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; John 14:16-17)

Humanity, the Fall, and Redemption

Humans were created good and in the image of God. However, they fell into sin through disobedience. Redemption is possible only through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31; Romans 5:12-21)

Salvation of Humanity

Redemption is freely offered through Jesus Christ. Those who repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord are justified by grace through faith and become children of God, evidenced inwardly by the witness of the Holy Spirit and outwardly by a transformed life. (Luke 24:47; Romans 10:9-15; Titus 3:5-7)

Water Baptism

Baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is an act of obedience that symbolizes the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:4)

The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine, commemorates Christ's suffering and death, and it anticipates His second coming. (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

Believers are entitled to seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as commanded by Christ. This experience empowers believers for service, ministry, and spiritual growth, evidenced by speaking in tongues and the manifestation of spiritual power. (Acts 1:8; 2:4, 38; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31)

Sanctification

Sanctification is a life-long process of becoming holy through obedience to God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. Holiness is essential for seeing God. (1 Peter 1:15-16; Hebrews 12:14)

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission. Every believer is an integral part of this spiritual family. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

Ministry and Evangelism

God has called and equipped believers for ministry to evangelize the world and build up the body of Christ. (Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-13)

Divine Healing

Healing is part of Christ's atonement and is available to all believers. (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16)

The Blessed Hope

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the rapture of believers, which is the blessed hope of the Church. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Titus 2:13)

The Millennial Reign of Christ

Christ will return to establish His kingdom and reign on earth for a thousand years, fulfilling God's promises. (Revelation 20:1-7)

The Lake of Fire

Satan, his angels, and all who reject Christ will face eternal judgment in the lake of fire, which is the second death. (Revelation 20:10-15)

The New Heaven and New Earth

We look forward to the fulfillment of God's promise of a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1)

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God, designed as a union between one biological man and one biological woman. This principle governs the use of church facilities and property in accordance with our faith. (Matthew 19:4-6; Genesis 2:24)
